Stevey Funk - So much Things and such a little Time :)
Steve grew up in the 70's in a small town near Rammstein Airbase. When he turned 18 he moved to sunny Italy to join a band in Rome. Two years later he relocated to London and started working at the Metro Studios next to Tower Bridge. In the early 90's he fell for charming Amsterdam, moved in, and still lives there today. However - Since a couple of years now he's the proud owner of a Farmhouse in one of the most remote outskirts of France - which he uses as a creative spot and has plans to build a studio there in the future.
Started singing around the age of 6 followed not much later by picking up instruments. First the bass, then guitar. Stevey played in about 30 bands and performed around 2500 shows in 15 countries. Up to now he has a whopping 200 song spanning discography.
Today he plays and records all instruments by himself (incl. drums and keyboards). on a mobile setup based around a Macbook Pro, Metric Halo interfaces and the superb Reaper software :) and just loves to use vintage guitars, amps, mic's and effects like there's no tomorrow.
Stevey worked with platina producers like John Morand (Counting Crows, Lamb of God) and Quicky (Guano Apes,H-Blockx), made records for Virgin, Warner and EMI and played on great stages like the Marquee in Londen, the Grosse Freiheit in Hamburg and Paradiso in Amsterdam.
Check some pictures to get an idea wat Stevey is using to make his sounds. Most of it involves real instruments - so you won't find much pics of samplers or midi controllers here...Open pictures gallery...
